Welcome to the research project High-tension Aesthetics. Ethics and Aesthetics in Contemporary Media (2005-2008). The project is financed by the National Research Council for the Humanities and is housed by the Department for Film & Media Studies, University of Copenhagen.

The project concerns a number of the exaggerated, vociferous and most often very emotional appealing and affect causing cultural expressions. An important part of the project is the discussion of 'ethical quality'. On the basis of among others a number of empirical surveys of audiences' perception of theatre, film, television and homepages, we will discuss whether and how the aesthetic quality and the morality of the media add up.
